Tisia Baynes

The luxury candle business makes perfect sense for Tisia, because she is the self-proclaimed “Queen of Self-Care”. She truly believes in taking time out of your busy life schedule, work, family obligations, and everyday life challenges, to make time for yourself, a lesson she learned from losing her mother more than 17 years ago! She believes self-care has to be both intentional and planned, with no excuses needing to be made for it.  In what can sometimes be a very stressful career in Human Resources Management, a career she has spent over 20+ years building, she has personally experienced the value and benefit that a self-care routine has added to her life. She believes that an integral part of creating a stress-free environment for relaxation and your own personal mental health and wellbeing, is your responsibility, but that it starts with soothing scents!

Candles have always been a part of her self-care routine, along with a great massage every few months at her favorite day spa, but she has never experienced candles quite like she has with QT. The scents are long lasting and they truly fill a room!  In addition to her love for quality smell goods, she has a sweet tooth she inherited honestly from her mother. She knows where to get the best cakes from, for real, with the best bakeries in the city on speed dial!  Her family is super important to her and she enjoys spending time with them as often as she can. She has 2 brothers, an older sister, 3 nieces, a nephew, 1 brother-in-law and 2 sisters-in-law. She appreciates their love and support during this journey!

She currently serves as the VP/ Human Resources for a Real Estate Developer, in her hometown of Philadelphia, where she was born and raised. She holds her BS in Mass Communication and Public Relations, with a minor in African American Studies, from Mansfield University, in Mansfield, Pennsylvania. Tisia has spent a vast amount of her professional career in Human Resources Management and Staffing, serving as Principal and VP of Human Resources for Immaculate Office Cleaning Co. LLC, a commercial janitorial cleaning company she Co-Owned, as well as Director of Operations with Physician Billing Solutions Inc, for 12+ years.   She has worked in the Communication/Entertainment Industry for a stint serving as the Personal Assistant for several years to Wendy Williams herself, and managed the Wendy Williams Diva Club. She has plans to start her own podcast very soon, because she always has something to say!

She is excited for the journey that QT Scents & Things has put her on, and she is super pumped that you have come along for the ride!  QT is truly a Personal Candle Buying Experience, and she hopes to share it with the world.
