When one of the Partners bought her first home, right across the street from her future BFF, who knew they would one day be on a mission to provide quality scent goods to people all over the world with QT Scents & Things LLC! We met 16+ years ago, and started a friendship that would eventually turn into Best Friends building a scented feel-good empire. The friendship has allowed us to maneuver through the business relationship we now have! You never know what God is setting you up for, or when it will happen, but you have to be ready!

One day at a candle making party in the city, for a very close friend, we learned the very basic process to making candles, or so we thought. We had no idea how much we did not know until we started down this journey. One partner who will remain nameless…Robin…kept kicking Tisia under the table, saying we could do this…we could do this …to the point of annoyance. Tisia was so focused on her sips (she may or may not have been tipsy by this point), and adding way too much scent to the first candle either of them ever made (she wanted it to smell great),that she did not even hear Robin, until the end of the night. Tisia was clearly not paying attention to the instructions being given because the candle she made on this night literally caught fire while she was making breakfast…true story. Once Tisia heard Robin…really heard her, it was on and popping, and QT Scents & Things LLC was born!

We started to think about how much fun we had on this night, and all the things we would do differently if given the opportunity! It was obvious that people would have as much fun as we did making candles, especially with the 2 of us spearheading the EXPERIENCE…but what if we took it up a notch. What if we found beautiful vessels for the wax to sit in, really educated our customers on candle care, created a special group to share our scents with before releasing them to the public (QT VIP Club) with added savings and added benefits to joining, a space where we could host candle parties…allowing others to make beautifully scented candles for their personal enjoyment. The possibilities were endless, and so was the opportunity!

For one year we researched waxes, scents, vendors, tried to find our hot spot so that the candles we created smelled longer and better lasting than anything we had ever bought before. We asked ourselves how could we get the candle unlit (cold throw) to smell as great as it did when you lit it (hot throw)? What scents did we personally love as avid scent connoisseurs and candle buyers over the years and how we could make even those scents even more enjoyable? How would we afford this business as a start-up, what insurances did we need for ourselves and our customers? We asked ourselves all of these questions and a million more. We got our friends and family members to test the products and give us HONEST feedback. We will forever be grateful to them, and after a year of testing and getting on our families last nerve, a lot of blood, sweat and tears (literally), we had our products ready to share with the world, inventory was stocked and we were ready to do a soft launch, or so we thought. On Feb 1, 2020, it was our launch date… little did we know. QT Scents & Things has been providing quality scent goods, added to our brand and underwent a whole REBRANDING to start 2021! We are excited for what is to come!!!!

QT has had a string of obstacles, since we started this journey. We were able to successfully  make it through a global pandemic, mainly because of so many of you, our loyal customers, and VIP members. We will be forever grateful to all of you, but just as in life, and in business, things change.

As of recently, Robin has decided to leave QT and focus on her personal customization business. She wishes QT the best of luck and will always be there to support and encourage her BFF. QT would not be where it is today, if it wasn’t for our friendship and partnership. The friendship continues, as the business relationship has ended. The great news is we are stuck with each other for LIFE, and Tisia as the sole Owner now will collaborate with Robin in the future!
